Wilko Johnson passed away at 75 years old, leaving an undeniable legacy in music behind. The late guitarist was diagnosed in January 2013 with late-stage pancreatic cancer and elected not to receive chemotherapy. 

While giving an interview on the BBC Radio 4 arts program Front Row on January 2013, Johnson revealed that doctors had told him he had nine or ten months to live. In the same interview, Johnson also talked about his farewell tour of the UK set for March and how his cancer diagnosis had made him feel vividly alive.

Furthermore, Johnson did not have the more common adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. Later, it was discovered that he had a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PanNET). After that, he underwent radical surgery to treat his illness. So, the doctors were hopeful that his prognosis would be good. So, he passed away on November 21, 2022, at the age of 75.

Sadly, Wilko Johnson died on November 21, 2022, aged 75. The death news was announced via Twitter, but the family didn't disclose the cause of death. The Twitter post stated,

"This is the announcement we never wanted to make, & we do so with a very heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died. He passed away at home on Monday, 21st November. Thank you for respecting the family's privacy at this very sad time. RIP Wilko Johnson."

Wilko Johnson Wife and Children Details

Wilko Johnson was survived by his two children, both sons named Simon Johnson and Matthew Johnson. Besides, he was married in the past to Irene Knight. They first crossed paths in their teens at a local youth club. Afterward, they shared a dance at their school leavers' party and soon went on their first date.
