However, in the comics, he is very much alive and plays an important role until the comic ends. After Carl’s father, Rick Grimes, is killed by Sebastian Milton, the comic fast-forward 25 years and shows that a fully grown-up Carl is carrying his father's legacy.

In addition to that, he is married to a girl named Sophia and even has a daughter named Andrea. They live on a small farm far away from Alexandria, where there is no sign of any walkers.

But one day, Carl sees a walker coming near his farm and kills him. However, as it turns out, the walker belonged to Maggie's grown-up son, Hershel Rhee. Due to that, Carl had to stand before a judge. And, to his luck, Maggie shows up and relieves him from the trials.

Despite almost being sent off to prison, Carl once again kills all of Hershel’s walkers. As a result of that crime, he now has to go through a trial once again in front of all community members.

Fortunately, Carl had the brain of his father, Rick. In the trails, he explains how the surviving people should never let their guard down. After listening to his satisfactory explanation, Michonne, the Judge, pardons Carl off all the crimes.

Afterward, Carl goes to his farmhouse, where his wife and daughter were waiting for him to arrive. At the end of the comics, Carl is seen alongside his daughter, depicting how his father led a group of strangers to safety and saved the whole of humanity.

How Does The TV Version Of TWD Ends After Carl Died?
