The YouTube food sensation Daym Drops (née Daymon Patterson) is getting bigger and bigger as the day passes by.

He is currently exploring the best meals that he can find across America and Birmingham. But, he is not doing it all alone as he is taking others along for the mouth-watering ride.

Daym, who currently boasts 1.49 million subscribers on YouTube, just got bigger with a Netflix show of his own. The all-new Netflix show titled Fresh, Fried & Crispy will premiere worldwide on June 9, 2021.

The show follows the YouTube food critic as he searches for the amazing, delicious, and pay-worthy burgers, fried food, and chicken and waffles in the country. The show’s synopsis is given as “Extra crispy pork chops in Birmingham, deep-fried Oreos in San Diego, and jumbo lump crab cakes in Baltimore.”

More Details About The Netflix Show

The official announcement of the show, Fresh, Fried & Crispy, was made on May 10, 2021, when Daym Drops shared a short clip through his Instagram handle. Ever since then, the food lover/critic has been promoting it through his social media handle.

In the Netflix show, the host, Daym, will travel around different cities of America like Cleveland, Savannah, San Diego, and Georgia, plus a grand destination to Birmingham in search of quality foods that will satisfy his food-hunger.

On May 26, 2021, Netflix dropped the official trailer for the show, which was quite fascinating. In the trailer, Daym could be seen tasting and reviewing the foods and other stuff, much like what he does on his YouTube channel, but on a very grand stage.

“Every bite has to be an experience. I'll go just about anywhere to get some good food. I'm only here for one reason, and one reason only: that is to devour,” says Daym in the trailer.

Likewise, he also said, “I had to kiss it. Just give me a minute. I have moments with my food” at the end of the trailer when he was served very delicious fast food. Going by that, it can be easily signified that the series will be huge and got better with Daym Drops in it. Fresh, Fried & Crispy drops on June 9, 2021, only on Netflix.

Struggle With Weight Loss & Diabetes

The American food critic has traveled around the country and tasted a lot of food. And that’s what made him popular. But, the rise to fame didn’t come free as it costed Daym. As a result of the different foods he ate, he began to gain weight.

At one time, he was weighing 400 lbs. What made it worse was that he was a type II diabetes patient. In a YouTube video of 2018, he opened up on how his doctor was mad at him for not taking care of his health properly and how his fast-food consumption was adding problems.

As a result, he began to review healthier foods and didn’t consume all of the food he was reviewing. Moreover, he also followed a 5-day plant-based diet challenge in 2019. The diet was quite fruitful, and Daym also began to lose weight.

Although he lost weight, he was happy with the shape of his body. In a video of May 2, 2020, he revealed that he is “fat and happy.”
