Leslie Jordan was one of the most loved actors born in the United States of America. He was a multi-talented personality who was not only an actor but also a talented comedian, writer, and singer.

Jordan was widely famous for his work as Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace. With his amazing work, Jordan also received some prestigious awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006.

Furthermore, Jordan has a massive fan base on Instagram, which rose more during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the whole world is devasted by the death of their favorite actor, who passed away following an accident. His presence still remains, and netizens are asking if he was gay in real life.

So, here are the facts regarding his sexuality.

Was Leslie Jordan Gay in Real Life? Sexuality Explored

Yes, Leslie Jordan was gay in real life. In the initial phase, it was pretty hard for Jordan as he was struggling to open up about his sexuality and admit that he was gay. Due to this, he was reportedly addicted to drugs and alcohol.

But later, Jordan collected the guts, and at the age of 42, he finally identified himself as gay. Since then, he openly talked about his sexuality and was also asked about his gender in many interviews. In a podcast, Jordan talked about rising up gay in the south when no one spoke about gay rights.

Not only that, but he also shared his personal struggles with crystal meth and alcoholism. Furthermore, the late gay actor was a teenager when the gay rights movement gained traction. And Jordan was coming to terms with his sexuality in the late 1960s and early 1970s. For many, he symbolized the joy of unquestionably visible queerness.

Billy Eichner, the creator of Funny Or Die's Billy On The Street, told the late gay actor Jordan paved the way for the rest of us. Not to mention, Eichner is also openly gay. As we know, Jordan is no more with us, and many gays and other people are also sharing their condolence.

Jordan's agent said it is suspected that the gay actor suffered a medical emergency at the wheel. He was reportedly driving to film scenes for FOX’s Call Me Kat and collided his BMW into a side of a building at Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street in Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department assured that the accident occurred at around 9:30 am PT.

Also, they lauded Jordan for centering his queerness unapologetically in his many parts and public appearances. In an interview on N.B.C.'s Meet the Press in 2012, Joe Biden attributed much of Americans' pivoting perspectives about the LGBTQ+ community at the time to the show. Biden said,

I take a look at when things really begin to change, is when the social culture changes. I think “Will and Grace” probably did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody’s ever done so far. And I think — people fear that which is different. Now they’re beginning to understand.
