If you are a fan of the very funny Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby, then hold tight as you might get shocked when you hear this particular news. The big news currently surrounding the internet, not COVID-19, of course, is that the 43-year-old comedian is officially married.
In her latest Instagram post, on April 29, 2021, the actress revealed that she tied the knots back in January 2021. Through the same announcement post, she also introduced her wife, Jenney Shamash, to her fans.
The surprising announcement post contained a picture of Gadsby and her partner eating ice cream while they were in a local shopping center. The cute picture was accompanied by a caption, in which she first introduced her spouse and mentioned that she is a producer extraordinaire. She then continued by writing;
She is very funny and is really talented at reciting facts. It is a joy to behold. We got married in January and we are very chuffed about it. For the record: this is me gushing. I am full of very positive feelings.
The Emmy Award-winning comedian’s caption concluded as she mentioned that her marriage story is a good one. In addition to that, she thanked everyone who voted to legalize same-sex marriage in Australia back in December 2017. The caption was later followed up by three hashtags that read “#married #really? #yeahtotally”
This is a nice story. My heartfelt thanks to everybody who voted for marriage equality. #married #really? #yeahtotally
Gadsby’s secret marriage surprised everyone as no one was informed about it, not even her close friends. And, as soon as she shared the news, friends and fans rushed towards the comment section to congratulate the comedian.
First Wives Club’s Michelle Buteau felt sweet after seeing the post as she commented, “awww I love love. ð¤ congratulations,” whereas the Canadian-American comedian, DeAnne Smith, went on to comment “very matrimony.”
As of this writing, the wedding announcement post has received almost 100 thousand likes and more than 3,800 comments on Gadsby’s Instagram handle.
Who Is Gadsby’s Wife, Jenney Shamash?
Gadsby’s Wife, Jenney Shamash, is a very private person and her details are yet to be known. Shamash’s zero social media presence is also a huge factor in that there is little to no information about her on the internet.
Despite that, there is a few key information known about her, thanks to Gadsby’s sweet elaboration of her wife in the announcement post’s caption. In the caption, the Tasmania native actress described her wife as a very funny person who is very talented at reciting facts.
Following that, she stated that Shamash’s habits are a joy to behold. Likewise, she also introduced her wife as a producer extraordinaire, which gave a few more clues about her partner and how they met each other.
Many might be shocked to learn that Shamash worked as a producer on Gadsby’s very popular live comedy show titled Douglas.
Considering that, it can be confirmed that the now-married couple first met each other professionally, and as time passed on, their relationship became stronger, and eventually, they settled down.
